Jon Schorsch
Jon Schorsch has an extensive background in law enforcement, and spending more than a decade as a Port of Seattle Police Department sergeant. He oversaw civil and criminal investigations, and guided all aspects of operations, including the implementation of policies and procedures. Jon Schorsch served as lead incident commander for major events held along the Seattle waterfront, from the Fisherman’s Fall Festival to a National Governor’s Conference.
Mr. Schorsch also had experience as a defensive tactics instructor with Washington State, and he provided police officers with training on force techniques. He also worked with them on understanding department policies and applicable laws, as well as reporting procedures. He retired from the police department in 2007 for medical reasons.
Active with the department’s Benevolent Association, Mr. Schorsch also serves on the board of Sight Connections (formerly Community Services for the Blind). Jon Schorsch has completed a JD at the Seattle University School of Law and gained internship experience in the local court system.
